Noemi Ramirez
Associate Lawyer

Noemi joined the Sweatman Law family in 2019 bringing with her 6 1/2 years of experience in the practice areas of real estate law, estate planning and estate administration. With southern roots, Noemi earned her undergraduate and a law degree in the U.S. but asks that you please not hold that against her as she came to her senses and proudly calls Canada her home. Although her heart belongs to Georgetown where she resides with her zoo of a family and loving husband, Noemi rotates through our Georgetown, Oakville and Clarkson offices to better serve our clients. She looks forward to meeting you and answering the never-failing question “how do you pronounce your name”. It’s “No-ami” by the way.

ALYSON SPALING
Associate Lawyer

Alyson is an associate lawyer at Sweatman Law, and is part of the estate litigation team. In 2008, she graduated with an honors Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Guelph and in 2012 she obtained her law degree from Bond University in Australia. Alyson was called to the Ontario Bar in 2013.

Associate Lawyer

Karen is an associate lawyer at Sweatman Law Professional Corporation. She started with the firm as an articling student in 2015 and after her Call to the Bar in 2016, she continued on as an associate. Karen’s practice primarily focuses on estate planning and real estate and she also has experience in estates litigation as well.

Associate Lawyer

Elise is an associate lawyer at Sweatman Law. Elise was called to the Bar in June 2018 and joined the firm after summering with us while at law school and articling with us for the 2017-2018 term. While working for the firm, Elise has been involved in our practice area of estate litigation, estate planning and estate administration files and has contributed to works on powers of attorney and substitute decision-making.

Marie Shearer
Law Clerk

Marie is a law clerk at Sweatman Law who started at our firm in 2019.  Although Marie’s focus at Sweatman Law is estate litigation, her knowledge and experience give her the ability to assist in all aspects of our firm. Marie graduated from Sheridan College as a legal administrative assistant followed by completing the Institute of Law Clerk of Ontario certification program at Sheridan College in 2008. Prior to joining our firm Marie was working for a litigation firm specializing in collections and mortgage enforcement for financial institutions.  In her spare time Marie enjoys hiking, reading and spending time with family and friends.

 

Lisa Hoadley
Legal Assistant

Lisa is a graduate of Ryerson University where she obtained an Honours B.A. in Office and Administrative Studies, followed by her Legal Assistant Diploma at Success Business College. The majority of her career has been spent working in insurance defence for several Bay Street firms in Toronto.

Lauren Teixeira
Legal Assistant

Lauren is an administrative assistant working in our Oakville and Georgetown offices, who joined Sweatman Law in May 2019. She graduated from the University of Guelph with an Honours BA in Criminal Justice and Public Policy and minors in Political Science and Psychology.

Lauren is assisting in all areas, with a focus on estate litigation, and brings past experiences from various administrative roles.
In her spare time, Lauren enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends outdoors.

Alena Mikulchyk
Legal Assistant

Alena is Jasmine Sweatman’s executive assistant and often our clients first point-of-contact. She assists our team to ensure procedures run as smoothly as possible using her excellent management, communication skills and passion for organization.

Alena graduated with Honours from York University with a Linguistics degree and joined Sweatman Law in July 2019. Alena’s knowledge and experience bring a sense of friendliness and professionalism to every telephone call.

Alena immigrated to Canada from Belarus with her family in 2004 and brings her fluency of the Russian language to the firm.

Outside of work, Alena enjoys rock-climbing, embroidery, and enjoying time with loved ones.

Kaitlin Moore
Legal Assistant

Kaitlin is one of our legal assistants who assist our team of lawyers in estate matters at Sweatman Law, including estate litigation and estate administration.

Kaitlin graduated in 2018 from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Ethics. She brings to Sweatman Law a strong commitment to our clients and being receptive to their needs building on the foundation learned as a family and real estate assistant.

She is currently studying to become a Law Clerk through the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario.

Outside of the firm, Kaitlin enjoys camping, hiking, and volunteering with shelter animals.
